BARCONN®
Non-Welded Piping System
Bar Hydraulics has many years of experience supplying
and installing non-welded hydraulic piping systems.
Most equipment requires hydraulic field piping
which is our scope of supply. This piping goes
from the main Hydraulic Power Unit to the equipment.
However, this piping has a significant impact
on the commissioning and operation of such equipment.
The most trouble free installations use a non-welded
piping system.
Method of BARCONN®
System
This flared joint is based on flaring the pipe
ends to 10 degrees and utilizing two internal
cones. One O-Ring face cone C/W clearance flange
and SAE O-Ring and one flat face cone C/W threaded
flange.
To make a connection, the pipe is cut square,
deburred and a flange is slipped onto the pipe
before flaring. After flaring, the cone is secured
into the pipe by way of an interference fit. In
fact, the cone may be used up to three times to
flare the pipe. By flaring the pipe with the cone
you can be sure of a sealed joint everytime. Once
the flange has been installed it can be rotated,
eliminating the need to match flange bolt holes
prior to installation. When bolting the joint
together, properly install a standard SAE O-Ring
and begin to tighten flange bolts evenly.
Our standard connection style conforms to SAE
Flanges along with metric ANSI and DIN flanges.
The Barconn connection has only one method of
attaching flanges to pipe, which is by a 10-degree
flare. The cone flares the pipe 10 degrees regardless
of the system pressure, the pipe size, the wall
thickness or the flange rating. All pipe sizes
and wall thicknesses are flared the same way.
All tooling is portable and low maintenance.
